Beschreibung

One Line Pitch – Nanolope sells heat-storing ceiling panels based on novel shape-stabilized phase change materials to real estate companies, aiming to reduce heating costs by 50%. Business Summary – Advised by serial entrepreneur (+40 Start Ups) and founder of Green Chemistry, John Warner, Nanolope produces ceiling panels based on patented shape-stabilized PCMs via a chemical contract manufacturer (CDMO) and sells them to major real estate firms like Metzger, LEG, and Vonovia for approx. €9,000 per 100 m² apartment. Sales are driven through C-level contacts and paid pilot projects—already successful with Metzger. Nanolope is expanding its IP portfolio (new patent filing in October) to cut costs, simplify synthesis, and enable new products. After the pilot phase, revenue will increasingly come from licensing to PCM companies like Rubitherm and Croda (LOI: €12M revenue in 2023 from Croda alone). Next, Nanolope will enter the hot water storage market, with pilot projects (e.g., Sailer) already underway, to increase the energy density by 3x and thus enable smaller hot water storage tanks for renewable and heat pump systems in buildings.

Unser Produkt

Customer Benefit – 50% savings in annual heating demand/costs, buffering of temperature peaks in summer (passive cooling) and winter (passive heating), intermediate storage of electricity and heat by charging ceiling panels during negative electricity prices or via PV/solar thermal systems. Enables higher rental income through improved thermal comfort and boosts energy efficiency ratings of buildings. Product/Services – Ceiling panels made from innovative, shape-stable phase change materials that store 24 times more heat than gypsum or concrete. They are mechanically robust, easy to drill/saw, and designed for seamless integration by craftsmen. With these products, we transform the heat and cold storage properties of your home into a sprawling stone church with thick walls (3 cm of our material stores the same heat amount as 210 cm thick concrete wall). Target Market – German real estate renovation market, especially energy inefficient houses and flats in Germany and later Europe. Market volume: 200 billion € with a serviceable obtainable market of 66 billion €. Planned market share in the fifth year: 4%. Customer – Real estate corporations, public sector (e.g. hospitals, city halls), property owners, chemical companies for licensing (e.g. Croda).

Unser Beitrag

Nanolope PCM currently meets 9 out of 12 principles of Green Chemistry, making it demonstrably sustainable. Our mission: reduce 1% of global CO₂ emissions with this material. We also align with 6 of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. And here's the kicker: just 3 cm of our product can replace a 2.10-meter thick concrete wall as a building material.
